15" Practise Shell

I finally managed to get the new shell home.

I picked it up before Christmas in the Wife's car and had it in storage at a friends until we could get it setup at home.

The smaller shell in the second picture is a 4.5" HE shell

The JCB made moving it easy.

Wow, big boys toy !

Do we take it that your wife is in need of a new car ?

Lovely item Glevum hope it is securely attached to something heavy in the garden:rofl:

You are a brave man to take on the removal of something so big and heavy, much as I would like one it is just too much for me now.

Thanks for making my day!

Very nice items, both of them! Ya gotta love those all terrain fork lifts!

Hi Glevum,
Nicely manovered, good to see it. You just have to get it painted now !
Best regards Weasel

I am green with envy
but alass it's there not here but what a great round
thanks for the pics
I stopped my collecting at 8"
But I do know where there is a 16" HE
But cash is scarce right now
oh well maybe some day

Here are some pictures of putting it in place.

The hardest bit was standing the shell up, but once it was upright it the lift was simple.

You can get a lot done for a bottle of wine.

You gotta really appreciate the efforts involved here! I know a guy who has an 18 inch Naval shell in his back garden by his pond. He had to remove his back fence to get it in. His home backs out onto a farmers field so it was no problem for the crane to get it in for him, but as he said it was an expensive operation!

Nice shell glevum, well worth the hard work..............you lucky person!
Dave.
