2.36 inch rocket during WW-2

Is the Rocket, HEAT, 2.36 inch, M6A4 with the M400 base detonating fuze used during WW-2? The same question for the Rocket, Smoke WP, 2.36 inch, M10A2 with the M401 fuze.

I'm not sure about the exact model numbers of the rockets you mentioned, but the U.S. used the 2.36 inch rockets and launcher in WWII. The Korean War began the introduction of the 3.5 inch rocket and launcher which was used up into the beginning of the Vietnam War when the LAW rocket was introduced.

From the the USNBD "Rockets and Fuzes" dated May 15, 1945:

Thanks for the info.

So during WW 2 were used the HEAT rocket M6A1 – M6A3 series with the simple base detonating fuze and the HEAT rocket M6A4 with the M400 bore safe fuze and the M10 Smoke WP rocket with the simple base detonating fuze.

So the rockets with the M401 fuze are post WW2.

The 2.36 (M6A1 thru A4) did not have a bore riding pin (no bore safe), it had only the safety pen that of course was pulled prior to loading and firng. That fuze was the M400, The A4 differed only in the propellant it used. The M6A5 used the M 401 BD fuze.

The M7 series pretty much the same.

The 3.5" rocket did have a bore riding pin, I believe that fuze was the M 404, I need to check.
