Question about this fuze ... I think I identified it correctly. However, I am curious about the markings. I thought maybe this was U.S. version (this is what the paperwork states), or possibly Canadian based on the marking (The C and O).

Then again ... I could be completely wrong. And if nothing else, you now have pictures.

Dia: 31MM
Length: 92MM
Exposed Length: 25MM

Any ideas?

Joe

Hi Joe,

Here is a drawing provided by a french regulation dated 1923 :

FR_FUZ_24311899ROBIN.jpg

So I'm pretty sure your picture is not a french made 24/31 1899-08 fuze.
But I don't know this logo (a C and a O together).
According to french SIGFAB (directory of manufacturers), there are only two companies with letters CO
CHAFFOTEAUX & MAURY (french boilers)
CORDOSA (spanish )
and only one with OC : OLAGNON-CHAPALE (I couldn't find anything about it)

Regards,

S.

I don't know how I missed the M.V.
Thanks ... Well if nothing else we have more pictures. Now I just have to figure out the CO company ... see if it was made in the U.S.

Joe

The plot thickens ...

So the fuze is made by the U.K.

Did the U.K use these fuzes as designated or did they mark them something else?

Joe

I don't know ! And to be complete, I find it very strange that a UK manufacturer made french fuzes for the US !
