57 mm AP

I've come across a 57mm AP projectile that needs completing. There is a threaded hole in the base that is empty. What should the piece that screws in there look like? Thanks in advance.

The M72 BD fuze is used in the 57mm APC HE projectile.

How old is it

These existed since the 1890s in one form or another and take base fuzes.

It's dated 10-42 and is also marked M22 and Drill Round on the driving band.

Your 57mm M22 drill projectile's threaded hole was for a simple steel retaining rod attached to the steel cartridge case.
