5cm links

I'm looking for some information regarding the links for the German experimental 5cm aircraft cannon. Has anyone got any line drawings, photographs of the links etc.?
Dave.

Dave,

According to Tony Williams' "WW2 flying guns", the BK 5 used an annular magazine containing 21 rounds.

greetz,

Menno.

I have only seen one once, on a NVBMB international meeting. It presumably was for the Mauser MK 214A which used the same 50x419R ammo as the BK 5, but had a conventional belt feed rather than the 'squirrel cage' magazine.
Thr price however was ridiculous at 700 pounds.
Regards , DJH

Dave.

Hi Dave,
here you can see a whole belt loaded with 5cm Ap rounds: http://www.cockpitinstrumente.de/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/m/MK 214/Bilder/MK 214/15.jpg

It is for the 50mm MK214 cannon: http://www.cockpitinstrumente.de/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/m/MK 214/MK 214 Maschinenkanone.htm

This is a very interesting article about the 55mm MK112 cannon:
http://www.cockpitinstrumente.de/archiv/Dokumente/ABC/m/MK 112/mk 112 maschinenkanone.html
There is also a photo of a belt loaded with drill rounds.

Unfortunately it is all in german.

Thanks, that's great, I'll I need to do is find one now!!

Dave.

The one on the picture was offered at the Dutch collectors meeting. I was told it came from the collection of the late Mr Labbet's (GB) collection. So if it's not sold (I think no one will buy at that rediculous price) it should still be in the UK. I'll ask around for it.
Regards DJH
