Phew, what a mouthful of a title. This is a reprint by Amazon of a 406 page book published in 1867 and has a number of diagrams. I bought a paperback copy via the internet for 8.99 + Post & packing. Modern ISBNs are 1-4021-5950-1 for the paperback version and 1-4021-2108-3 for the hardback version. The typeface is fairly small but it makes interesting reading. It seems that some of the info in it was inserted in brief in the back of the 1936 textbook of ammunition. I would recommend it for those with an interest in mid 19th century ammo, how ammo was developed and how various problems were overcome.
