Looking for real pictures of this projectile
M816, 60-MM, MORTAR, PRACTICE
It uses the M751 fuze.
I have line drawings of it, but like some real ones for the EOD publication.

Thanks,

Joe

The M816 is an 81MM IR Illuminating round
60MM practice is either an M69
M766 SRTR
Short-Range Training Round
M769
Full Range Practice Round
Check your nomenclature I have a sluw of 60MM 81MM 4.2" and 120MM mortars in the collection
Let me know what you want pics of and I'll see if i have it

It's Identical to the M769 I have one in the collection This had to have been the prototype I.E. the XM The data also shows it using an XM751 fuze

Yeah ... when we did some research on this projectile we couldn't find out when or where they decided to change nomenclatures the way they did. In most US munitions we have looked at, the XM goes on to be the M (standardized version). However, in this case the nomenclature went on to become an Illumination round, and the practice became the 769. Not sure why they did this.
