Have you ever encountered such a C 50-class German bomb? Its shape and features generally fit the Brand C 50 B - with a bayonet mount of the tail section and a relatively stubby nose. The problem is, the nose section is a solid one piece part, lacking the distinctive nose plug for the HE chamber of the Brand C 50 B. The bomb is apparently in its original dark gray or nearly black paint, with a white "Gewinde beschaedigt" (damaged thread) stencilling next to the fuse pocket and no other inscriptions or colour markings can be seen except of small numbers (e.g. 14) stamped near the fins.
The dark grey finish suggests, it's a pre-1943 bomb and - if the bomb was not repainted in the era - I'd say from the lack of markings, it was never delivered, most probably rejected due to the damage? But why was it preserved with appropriate marking as damaged and not simply scrapped?
Do you have any ideas, what could it be? An early variant of the Brand C 50 B? A blunt nosed variant of the Brand C 50 A, unified with the Brand C 50 B?
