Hi bud,

i reccon its just a casting mark only.
I have a list here of about 800 armaments manufacturers from WW1 and F E dosnt relate to any of them. List is in alphabetical order and so quite easy to check.
Dobson & Barlow, Kay Street, Bolton, the makers of the lever are there though. Nice gren by the way, but have to inform you that the lever is actually wrong for your gren. Its a modified 23/3 or 36 lever and would not have been issued for that gren. That lever type was designed by Gibbons in 1917 and its original use was for the 23/3 and a bit later the 36.
