Chamier Grenade

I was lucky to find this Chamier Grenade recently. Externally it's mostly complete, internally it has a centre piece but it would seem that a lot of the mechanism is missing. There are no markings on it.
I would really appreciate it if someone could give me the dimensions of the lead weight that should be attached to the top of the outer safety lever, as I would like to make one to finish off the external appearance of the grenade. Many thanks.

Tony, I have a spare reproduction weight (brass), made to the original dimensions. If of any use, you are welcome to it. Let me know and I can post it.

Chamier was quite a character. He even ended up on the Gestapo 'Death List' for the invasion of the UK. However the Germans had not found out that he had died in 1933! No. 38 on the list, just under the Prime Minister.

Yes indeed, I remember reading about him in your book, he sounded like a clever and interesting man.

My Chamier Grenade is now externally complete with it's Brass weight, with thanks to Snufkin for his very generous offer of a quality reproduction of the missing part. Thank you so much again !
