Colour green finishes used on Australian bombs

Investment

Well-Known Member
Hello

Would anyone know the different names of the colour green finishes used by the RAAF on their 250 lb, 500 lb and 1000 lb GP bombs here in Australia during WW2 ?

I know of the green colour olive drab, but think this is an American colour.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Hi ,
Can't find the references at the moment but generally listed as Dark green, the closest i've seen is like a Brunswick/British racing green and Light green for the banding.
And i think WW2 US Olive drab is often more of a brown shade.

cheers ,
Bob

Hi,
Try bronze green. Its what was used in the UK and is essentially dark green. You want matt finish. Will see if I can find the BS number.
