I know the feeling!

..however got hold of the series on DVD a couple of years ago and was impressed by how realistic the technical aspect was.

cheers

Butterfly,
My two sons and I also watched it on Masterpiece Theatre years ago on the Thames Channel for 13 Sunday afternoons. We could not wait for the next chapter and always glad when the love scenes were over and got back to the bombs.
The Butterflies must have really been a headache and surely not all were recovered. People in that area should be reminded and I wonder how many 'duds' are sitting on mantlepieces.
Regards,
John aka Bart

Yes i remember watching it when it was broadcast on TV in the late 70's as well, and bought myself the box set a couple of years ago. Still a fantastic watch with more time and detail given over to the technical side of things than would ever be done these days.
Best regards Weasel.

When the Butterfly winter episode was first screened on TV there were several reports of SD2's being found. I remember reading one about a woman who had dusted a 'strange looking object' for years and only after this particular episode was shown did it turn out to be a 'live' butterfly bomb. Another incident was a gamekeeper who had wondered for years about the metal object hanging in a tree - again a butterfly bomb.
There must be others too.
It is an incredable series and well worth purchasing the box set of DVD's.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who saw it first time around!!!!

regards Kev

I was stationed at the "US Force Accomodation" at RAF Croughton, with the 7016th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight (USAF) from Oct '78 until Oct '81, and I remember anxiously awaiting each week's installment of Danger UXB. I still have the book, adapted from the Thames Television series by Michael Booker and published in 1979. I used to look for other shows with Anthony Andrews (played Lieutenant Brian Ash, RE).
