When I had a house in France I frequently saw WW1 and WW2 German helmets converted to hanging baskets / plant pots in both brocantes and outside of people's houses.

I discovered this by chance on the web and thought it needed posting here. The tall jug is reputed to be a repurposed KWK40 case. I don't know about the cups but I wouldn't be surprised if they are slices of another shell case.
