Hi Could anyone tell me what the stamp means on this 18pdr flash tube is it a manufacturer stamp, its a S in a square with a arrow underneath, any help will be much appreciated.

From what I’ve read, a monogram in a square usually indicates a subcontractor. I wonder if this was made for BSC?
 
Scovill did a lot of sub-contract work. However, their normal monogram was an 'S' within a square.
