Had a request to post some photos of the fuze from the 66mm Rocket used in the M-72.

First photo is the fuze in its casing in the safe condition, second photos is in the armed condition. The remainder of the photos are of the fuze in the unarmed condition. As you can see this fuze is inert.

Hi Cam,
Thanks for these images, really great detail.

I RE-found the following thread about a mystery "practice" round for an early M72 with a real, I believe, coupler:

http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/12171-66mm-Practice-Rocket?highlight=m412

My question now is, what is the function of that rectangular projection from the base ring of the coupler and what part of the fuze lines up with it ?
Attached are a couple of the pictures from that thread.
Regards,
Bill

I don't think the rectangular protrusion has anything to do with the fuze, but I have no idea what it's purpose actual is. Live M-72s, at least the A3 and A5 versions I have experience with do not have that on the rocket motor or fuze housing. The other M-72s I dealt with on range sweeps also do not have but I am actually not 100% sure which versions we were dealing with since it makes no difference for the FFE process.

I did post photos of the A3 and A5 rockets in another thread but I can't post the link here with my IPad.
