Fuze Time No 125 (N)

AE501

HONOURED MEMBER RIP
This fuze was used in British Navy 2pr and 6pr ammunition and was obsolete by the end of the WW2.
It was a single ring time combustion fuze and was used with an automatic fuze setter.
It employed a slight delay at the start of the powder train for safety.

Next to the set screw tapping, it appears to be stamped 10/52 is that correct? If so, any idea why it was manufactured after being declared obsolete?

Quite right. I took the statement in BR932 that this particular fuze was obsolete as it was in British service, however we sold a lot of ships to a lot of countries after WW2 and they had all the wartime guns fitted and when the stocks supplied ran out, they wanted more ammunition, so there were production runs to meet these requirements. I had a feeling at the time that I posted the thread that there was something I had overlooked.

here's one which appears to have been converted to DRILL status. Its dated 1953.
