Fw-190

COMMENT - The German Focke Wolf FW190 has to be one of the most beautiful fighter aircraft ever made, save the North American P51D Mustang (bubble canopy), and maybe the Supermarine Spitfire. All of this reminds me of a documentary on History channel where they excavated an American bomber covered in hundreds of feet of ice. Very interesting story and everything was preserved. they retrieved the aeroplane, rebuilt it and flew it!!!!..Dano

Aircraft archeology

Hi kz11gr,many thanks for posting the pics of the aircraft recovered in France,I was involved with investigating/recovering crashed ww2 aircraft for a number of years,it is amazing that these aircraft remains are in such good codition after such an impact and lying underground for so many years,I can well remember seeing and smelling oily mud on the end of the auger while trying to locate such crash sites, one thing we must never forget is that in many such crashes the pilots lost their lives,no matter which side they flew for they all deserve our respect,
Kind Regards,Don,
