german 13mm HE fuze

are you talking about any one of these two AZ 1531 and AZ 1532?

the second pic is the one i was looking for.
how would it actually detonate the round? does something shoot forward and hit the firing pin?

Paul,
the firing pin is held in the forward position ( top left picture ) till enough spin of the projectile compresses the spring with this small safety pin to the one side ( top right picture ) . If it hits now the target the firing pin can hit the detonator.
Hope my technical English was good enough to describe it.
