German Rifle Grenade

If I wanted to add a good quality WW2 German Anti personnel rifle grenade to my collection, approximately how much would it set me back, and where would I start looking?

I've seen one in the classifieds, but I'm really looking for one in better condition (sorry Waff :tinysmile_twink_t2:), and with original paint...

Thanks in advance

Phlarris.

Hi,

check out Specialistauctions.com, there's 3 or 4 German rifle grens from WW2 on at the moment. There should be something of interest there for you and give you an indication of prices.

Fair enough,my 'indication' of prices goes off what i pay when i buy a collection to move on...

The only one I can see at the moment is from Siegfreid. Do you have a link to any others?

Thanks

Bad form to reply to my own message - apologies.

Does anyone have a link to, or a scan of, a cutaway drawing of said rifle grenade?

Thanks again.

Phlarris.

Hi bud,

dont have direct link but if you key in 'Grenade' in SA search engine and scroll through the lot you will find them. Some may be from a seller called 'dugup'. Hope this helps,

Andy

Oh where, oh where are my grenades

I have two WW2 German rifle grenades and a WW1 rifle grenade coming from England. These were ordered and paid for on October 3rd and are still not here. They will arrive no doubt, but sometimes takes over 2 months. Food for thought if you are from U.S. It did not used to take that long but I guess the postal strike over there plays a role in this. Is the strike over?
I figure surface mail means "canoe" but did not think it was the very one used by Lewis and Clark. Now I am as patient as the next guy but this is just nuts. I ordered a fuze from Latvia and it got here in 1 week, from Spain 1 1/2 weeks. Yet from England the "surface mail" can take over 2 months. I just don't get it. I've never encountered a customs SNAFU so I don't think that is the hold up. Items ordered are a PZGR40, a sprenggranate, and an m1917 German rifle grenade. Every day the postie comes and goes I lose a tad more faith. Christ, are we not in the 21st century? Okay, i'm okay now, as I just had to blow off some smoke.....Dano

hi dan.
i was told surface mail can be fast or slow depending on which way round the world the ship is sailing.:tinysmile_cry_t3:
whether this is true or not i dont know.
cheers, paul.

Thanks for that. As you say, there are loads of ropey ones around, but I figure I might as well just wait until a really nice one comes up

Hi Dano. The postal strike is over but there are still odd delays in the UK caused by the strike and I have found that sending stuff surface to Canada can take up to 10 weeks anyway. I assume the US would be the same.

the mail

Yeah guys, I do understand. And Andy is correct as I got a few items from him surface that took just over a week. Lately that hasn't been the story. the items I have coming I bought on Specialist Auction from 2 very reputable dealers whom i've done business with in the past, so no doubt the stuff will arrive. Seem like when I got those grenades from Andy that everything was arriving in record time from England, as they may have been putting some surface stuff on aeroplanes (big thing with wings and large engines that catapults through the sky). I know good and well in a week or two i'll be laughing about it. But when the postie shows up with only bills and circulars it just drives me crazy...Dano
