German Störrkorpergeräten

Hello,

In a German document from 1940 is written that disruptive devices (Störrkorpergeräten) will be build in some Heinkel He 111and Dornier Do 17 airplanes.

I assume that it should be something like the British AAD devices, but have found nothing about something German made. Maybe was this only a experimence.

Has someone information about German
Störrkorpergeräten from 1940?

Greetings - Antoon

Hi Anton

Not much info to add. It may indeed be something like the British AAD. it was defined as a Rüstsatz thus a weapon system: the He111 H2 could be equipped in the rear tailgate with the R3 package defined as: "Störkörper-Ausstoßanlage im Hecksteiß"
for the term itself used by the Luftwaffe in the context of the ADD, see here: http://michaelhiske.de/Wehrmacht/Luft/BELEHRUN/Blatt01u02/blatt1_2b.htm (alinea 21)
Hope someone has more details.

Get some info from some good friends.

The Störrkorpergerät is an AA device that was build in the backside of the airplane. This was a launching tube with the AA bomblets inside.

The Heinkel He 111 had de SKAV 10-106 launcher with 10 bomblets or the SKAV 25-106 launcher with 25 bomblets. The airplane could also be equipped with the launcher SKAV 55/70 with 55 bomblets.

The bomblets SK 106-series are 105 mm in diameter and are 60 mm heigh and weight total 0.5 kg and were filled with 0,028 kg HE. The parachute has a diameter of 900 mm.
The SK 106/1 has 1 sec. delay. The SK 106/2 has 2 seconds delay.

The bomblets SK 70-series are 69.5 mm in diameter with an unknown height and the total weight is also 0.5 kg with an unknown filling of HE. The parachute has a unknown diameter .
The SK 70/1 has 1 sec. delay. The SK 70/2 has 2 seconds delay.

The pictures ar from the SKAV 10-106 launcher.

HAS SOMEONE DRAWINGS OR PICTURES FROM THESE BOMBLETS (STÖRKÖPERS) ?
