Hello,
Has anybody seen one of these before? Can anyone tell me what it was used for or time period it's from? Some kind of trainer? Middle pic is with a German 88 and 20MM shell and a US 105 and 37MM, 20MM for size reference. 50 cal thrown in. It's 3 pcs counting nose, spring and main body. It's heavy!
Regards,

Unknown large 155mm projectile

Hello Pelham,

You have a U.S. projectile, Dummy, M7 for guns or howitzers. These are post WWII era and came in the 155mm & 8-inch sizes. They are relatively scarce.

Best regards,

Randall

Mystery solved

Solved another mystery for me too as I saw this one at Stoneliegh earlier in the year and reckoned it was some sort of Drill projectile.

It had a price tag of 125-00 also !

Don't forget my personal favorite, the 175mm!

Thanks for the reply! I picked it up recently for $25 USD at a garage sale. Just the size of it made it a steal for me. Thanks again,
Regards,
Tom
