Pretty close to the set I bought a fair number of years ago....I posted pics of it...I paid around $400 for mine. I don't know if that was good or bad, but I was willing to pay it...but then this sort of thing isn't as common here as over in Europe, but maybe it will give you an idea...

Hi:
Yes, the problem with US prices is that almost always they are 50% more expensives than here. Thank you for your post anyway.

Hi,

So how much is something worth?

1) "Establish" a base price range (~$400);
2) How common /uncommon/rare the item is? (which should be reflected in (1) above)
3) The condition? (which should also be reflected in (1) above!)
4) Available Funds
5) ....AND most importantly, how BADLY do you want it?

As I'm not that familiar with the "scarcity" of the rounds themselves, the fact that it seems "complete" in the original container, original condition and heaps of round markings, normally would command a higher price.

As a "rough" comparison, a 2cm WW2 German complete flak round is worth ~$120-$150 AUD here in Oz (=USD right now!) - probably more now thanks to the Australian Customs Import ban! Your potential rounds, I would assume would also be in the same price range individually at least!!!. Throw in the container and the other bits and $400 seems a quite reasonable price.
(Remember the $400 was paid for a similar item several years ago!)

Lastly I gather these are aircraft rounds? (stenciling on the box lid), and aircraft ordnance seems a little more harder to find.....

Good luck - I hope you are able to "include" them into your collection!
Cheers
Drew

BTW - Have you "googled" for similar items for sale? The internet has a wealth of knowledge out there!

Hi Drew,

Good post....just an FYI it is actually a three round container and ammo for the leichte Infantrie Geschutz 18...the organic 75mm artillery of an Infantry regiment, a little break open breech of a support gun...a really cool complete set.

The luftd. marking on the lid simply refers to the fact the container is airtight...

One thing to add to item 2 is how much everyone else wants it. King Tiger rounds for example are relatively common over here in Europe, there were loads at Beltring this year, the problem is lots of people want them so the price stays fairly high.
Dave.

Hi,
Thank you for the clarification - you can see that I "suck" at reading German!!! :tinysmile_angry_t:

I actually tried to ID the round via the Fuze but just could not see the first couple of letters on fuse.....so the fuse should be "Gr Z 23 nA".

Now that's a neat looking artillery gun! [German Artillery of WW2 - Hogg p.18] On par in my books with the Japanese 70mm Mountain gun - I like the "smaller" size artillery guns - easier to store in your garage than a 155mm! (LOL).

Dave,
Your 100% correct - you may want something badly, but then someone else with a "bigger wallet", may just want it a tad more!

Happy Hunting!
Cheers
Drew

Really?
I don't see them that often over here.
One sees perhaps two rounds per fair over here, and then almost always with bad conditioned Pzgr39/1 projectiles. The one with the proper (!) HE and APHE (Pzgr39/43) projectiles are far less often seen...
Maybe some specimens surfaced then, if you write that there were loads of them. :tinysmile_tongue_t:

Cheers,
Olafo

Some must have surfaced.
Here's another one.
Sorry, seem to have hijacked this thread

Hellooooo, :hello: Im asking for the price of the set, not for a discussion about what is more common or not. You can send me a PM if you want.

For a complete set i would say 250-300 euro is a fair price, in good condition. These are seen not regulary, but also not too uncommon.

And sometimes you just have to buy it, it might hold you awake for weeks when you dont buy it.

I must be just getting "old & senile!"

Look what I just dug out of the fuze box!!!

Forgot that I even had one.....I should be whipped for not recognising that fuze!

..............humm, "whipped"? Now there's an idea......

Cheers
Drew
