Is this a British cartridge case?

Greetings to all (-:
This cartridge case is 305mm long, 195mm across rim. Seems that it might be British (1896?), so would be for a 6inch gun?
Any ideas, anyone, as to exactly what this is? (Perhaps cut-down?)

Kings Norton stamping would indicate British.
I thought it might be a cut down 4.7",though haven't checked measurements.
Has the look of cut down from the top,fairly thick case mouth.

edit; Just checked measurements, looks like cut down 6"coast gun.This sort of case is often(annoyingly!) cut down to get rid of the case cuts at the mouth.

You could always use it as an umbrella stand,just what you need in the winterless north!
