Greetings to all (-:
This cartridge case is 305mm long, 195mm across rim. Seems that it might be British (1896?), so would be for a 6inch gun?
Any ideas, anyone, as to exactly what this is? (Perhaps cut-down?)
Thanks very much, Charley
Kings Norton stamping would indicate British.
I thought it might be a cut down 4.7",though haven't checked measurements.
Has the look of cut down from the top, fairly thick case mouth.
edit; Just checked measurements, looks like cut down 6"coast gun. This sort of case is often(annoyingly!) cut down to get rid of the case cuts at the mouth.
