The Fuze Mine Anti-Tank L89A1 is a single impulse, direct action, pressure operated fuze. The fuze is actuated by pressure being transmitted to the striker mechanism via the activating cover and pads of the sensing element.

After the Fuze L89A1 has been armed and a pressure in excess of 137 kg is
applied to the activating cover of the mine, the hose is compressed and the hydraulic fluid is forced against the diaphragm of the sensing element which is housed within the fuze as part of the fuzing operation. This pressure distends the diaphragm which activates the plunger. The plunger is forced inwards compressing the striker spring. When the detent slots in the plunger wall reach the detent pins, the pins are forced outwards by the action of the striker and spring thereby releasing the striker which is driven into the detonator. The resultant detonation fractures the septum and initiates the CE stemming and pellet, detonating the magazine filling and the main filling of the mine.

* due to this fuze been mostly black i had to paint it to highlight the main components also the detonator holder was missing so i had to make a replica based on what drawings i had.
