Hi BOCN friends,

I am not quite sure if this has been discussed already. I am interested in post-WWII US HC (hexachlorethane) smoke grenades.

Does anybody have any pics? Or info on development and manufacture?

Thanks.

Here's a Dutch NR7C2 HC smoke-grenade from my collection

Sorta ratty due to old, dried, tape glue remnants. In pretty good shape otherwise.

Fragman or anybody,

nice pics. Who knows what SWP and FDL stand for? From which years are these? Are they American?

Thanks.

According to my notes:

SWP stands for: Smith & Wesson Pyrotechnics Inc., Jefferson, Ohio, USA
FDL stands for: Federal Labs, Saltzberg, Pennsylvania, USA

Smith & Wesson also used SWC Markings = (Smith & Wesson Chemical) on some of their commercial M201 Fuzes.

If I am not mistaken Lake Erie Chemical Co. was once a part of Smith and Wesson, right?
Does anybody know in which years SW was (is?) making HC?
