Terrible terrible news. So glad he wasn't hurt worse than that.
From past experience, anyone else who has bought from that seller will be contacted. A similar incident where a seller from Germany sold a grenade with a live fuze that went off in the buyer's hand led to Interpol contacting our ATF who then visited me.
What could've gone off that led to such a small explosion and not vaporizing him?
I'm also wondering if he might be one of our younger members.
In any case I'm glad he's ok.
SA might not fare well though. That'll hurt.

Sounds like the fuse det or propellant as it couldnt have been the bursting charge . .ouch though.Darrol.

Was it actually from Specialist Auctions? as it does say " from a specialist auction web site" which could be any number of sites on the internet.

personaly im not worried about the further restrictions this may impose for us collectors, the one we should be concerned about is this poor kid he was very lucky he didnt lose his fingers or worse after buying something in good faith as an inert collectable.

To me the fact that someone is selling stuff that they obviously do not understand or know the facts about it`s condition/status is very worrying.
Unfortunately incidents like this put a `cloud` over all of us serious, responsible & safe enthusiasts.
Glad the lad in question did not fare worse.
