Okinawa, 1945. One of the last surviving IJN submarines battles an American destroyer at the very end of WWII http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1382642/. A story of a song given to the sub's captain by his wife before departure and rediscovered many years later by captain's granddaughter. The English title "Last operations under Orion" refers to the fact that both Americans and Japanese stare at Orion at night (if there is no battle). The role of the American destroyer is played by USS Slater http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/95572-USS-Slater-Albany-New-York, which is actually a destroyer escort (a much smaller lighter more nimble version of a destroyer which can ran around/through the mass of convoy cargo ships to protect them much the same way a sheep dog guards/protects a flock of sheep). If you like subs and torpedos, you must see this one. You'll see famous Kaiten. You'll see a sub attacking a destroyer, you'll see a destroyer ramming the sub, you'll see the Japanese sub finding another Japanese sub which is depth-charge-damaged and is sitting at the bottom of the ocean with the crew running out of oxygen.
The movie's language is about 75% Japanese and 25% English. I myself could not find English subtitles and I tried my best to figure out what was said in Japanese.
