Mk 116 Mod 0 Chemical Bomb

An interesting detailed model of the US Mk 116 Mod 0 chemicall bomb made by Pacific Miniatures of Alhambra, California. Very exceptional details including operational extending fins. Also known as the WETEYE, the bomb contained 160 kg of liquid GB nerve agent, thus the "WET" part of the name. The original 1960's design called for loading with both VX and GB, but VX was never loaded for fielding. The last one of these was destroyed at the end of 2001. They were developed for the US Navy and the intent was to carry 100 of them on a super carrier. I can only imagine the results of a major leakage/accident on an aircraft carrier at sea.

But he is running late for work and cannot post right now!

Had to do a Leak Seal pack on one in EOD School Years ago. We were all really glad it was empty.

Best on short notice, bottom center. Taken from the Bombatorium thread. The CW treaty allows weapons to be destroyed in a manner which does not preclude their use for display or training.
