Have just been able to buy this today. No lid but otherwise pretty good condition.

The paint may have faded a bit over 104 years and is more light green than the regulation dark green.

Original rope handles and metal closure bars.

Happy with that!

surprised its not branded underneath, i have a No5 box that's branded just like the WW2 boxes

I've got a WW1 Mills crate and it's not branded underneath so I'd assume stencilling was standard in WW1. It could possibly have varied in the Great War until a standard was set?
