Attached a few of pictures of an Oerlikon temperature gauge.

I'm sure one of you knowledgeable people out there can give some more detail on exactly what its for. I understand they were used for measuring the temperature when testing the performance of ammunition at different temperatures, the "round" with the gauge on top being pushed into the batch of rounds that needed to be heated up or cooled down.

I've seen these in 25mm also, does anyone else have any they can photograph and post on the forum?

Dave.

Perhaps to make sure the APC that has just been hit is "done"?

or, to check bore/chamber temps after prolonged test firing?
