Reshaping trench art case mouth

Hello,

I have a 17 pounder case which someone tried to make some kind of trench art/flower vase of.
Very sad, as it ruined the case a bit.
Is there any way to get it back to the original shape or has the metal just stretched too much?

Thanks,
Stuka.

That is very easy to fix. Put the projectile in place for use as a die, then hammer the lip back into shape.

Thanks!
I'll give it a try and I'll add some pictures afterwards.
However, I don't have any projectiles and I do not have a large enough lathe either, but I'll try it with a steel pipe instead.

I already practiced a bit on a 25Pr case which had the same problem and it turned out alright.
Honestly, it doesn't look like nothing happened, but at least it's better than before.
