Restoration of Cut Czech 4.7 cm Antitank Cannon Case

These are too rare in the US to let one go to waste because someone cut off the top 40mm. I fabricated a replacement top and press fit it into place. The one that was cut is dated 1940.

Rich - What aging technique would you recommend - oil and heat?
 
Hello John. I did not know you could TIG weld brass. However, wouldn't I have a weld line that would have to be cleaned up?
 
Yes, there would be a bead that would need to be turned down, or filed off, but there wouldn't be a seam cut any more. Use a strip off of a similar material cartridge case for filler rod, if you use filler.
