They know he handles wealth and banking accounts of many noble and rich Austrians, and Germans want that money. In order to withstand physical and psychological pressure of detention, Dr. Bartok engrosses himself into the art of chess, elevating the game to the unhealthy level of mental disorder. Based on a story by Stefan Zweig, one of my favourite authors when I was a teenager, far before cellphones and internet, the time when books ruled....
