this shell was used as AA HE fitted with 180 or 80/44 fuzes and under 44/80 as detonator system.
in place of 44/80 can be used an adapter N11 for G2
This shell can be used on 3 in 5cwt& 20cwt and also 13 & 12Pr
On left picture 3 in 20 cwt and on right 13 pr 9 cwt

Is that an external tracer fitted to the base? What is the brass piece on the end?

The brass piece on base shell is night tracer
Plug can be screwed when tracer is not usefull
