SMOKE marking in P59

Hi everyone. I have some SMOKE box steel in my collection. In the marking relating to the fuze, in addition to the lot, there is also an indication of SERIES. What does it mean?

The series number represents the filled shell lot, and would be stencilled on the body of the shell.
