Strange bomb related item???

Hear is a solid steel item which came in with a lot of other
Bomb fuse bits.

Anyone got any ideas.

I was sure "EX" was a German marking meaning practice ? Either way would think its a practice base fuze for a artillery shell.

Thanks,ithink this will be interesting as so far it has been established that it is a training fuse,but now who for and what ordnance.

I will clean it up and look for any more markings.

Also it looks like someone has used an end of a flat point screwdriver to indent the word EX.
