Not really ammo as we are used to:tinysmile_classes_t, but still interesting; the Cox bolt cartridges. These bolts were meant for underwater usage by divers for applying vent holes, threaded rods and rivet holes. This system was used by the Dutch navy up till the turn of the last century, by salvage companies clearing ship wrecks, and the offshore industry.
The hollow bolt with the long shellcase (1 &2) are able to punch through a 25mm (1”) thick steel plate, the cartridges with the short shellcase (3&4) are able to punch through a 19mm (3/4”) steel plate,

1&2 The bolt that allows air to flow through into a sunken submarine, either in a shipwreck to make in buoyant again. After the bolt has been shot through a bulkhead, a valve is placed iver the ½” thread, and with a long screwdriver the pointed nose cap is screwed off through the hole.
The hollow steel cap with the threaded rod through houses the powder charge that is ignited by the firing cap in the brass cap on top. The flame of the firing cap travels into the powder charge by a longitudal slot machined into the top of the threaded rod.

3. This bolt is shot into a steel bulkhead and has 5/8WW thread on the outside , alwing things tob e bolted tot he bulkhead , either apply a lifting eye.

Length brass cap : 17 mm
Diameter steel cup : 27 mm
Length steel cup : 20 mm
Length penetrating pin : 115 mm
Max diameter penetrating pin : 5/8 WW
Complete length : 152 mm

4. The punching bolt, meant to punch a hole through a bulkhead, either to remove a rivet.

Diameter brass cap : 31,4 mm
Length brass cap : 17 mm
Diameter steel cup : 27 mm
Length steel cup : 20 mm
Length penetrating pin : 45 mm
Max diameter penetrating pin : 17,4 mm
Complete length : 82 mm
