A Mk83 inert 1000lb MC bomb and tail unit acquired today as a training aid.2012-08-17 15.12.53.jpg2012-08-17 14.50.11.jpg

The geometry of the fins is different than I have seen before.

I havent really had time to compare them to anything else yet. Its been a busy day so far collecting these and putting them into our stores.
Have you any pictures to compare with?

The MK83 can take a variety of "wings" or "airfoil" according to its purposed use - for instance a high drag MXU 667. This one on the photo seems to be a MAU-91A/B airfoil, thence this bomb is a "destructor Mk40" made from a Mk83 body and the Mk35 modification kit converting the Low Drag General Purpose Mk83 bomb into an AirLaid Mine
