Two 40mm/2Pr

Hi,
Quick question;
Two, probably Britisch 40mm AP projectiles;
Shorter - no base fuze, only tracer.
Projectile have marking on driving band; AP 2Pr VIT StC 9507 BS F68D 6-42.

Longer - base fuze hole (fuze are missing), and no visible marking on driving band, only one stamp - something like "arrow".

Question is;
With one projectile, are proper too this 2Pr case?
I think first, cose have the same stamp like case - "2Pr"
But maybe both of them are corect for this case?
If not, what kind of case I should looking for this "longer" AP projectile?

Could the longer one be for the S Gun ?

Or is the shorter one for the 2 Pdr. AA ???

Was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me could answer this but here goes. The shorter one almost certainly is 2pr anti tank of WW2 and goes with the long 2pr No.2 case. The longer one if nominally 160mm long and has a threaded hole in the base nearly as big in diameter as the shell itself, is probably 40mm S gun. Both types of projectile have had various posts about them with some excellent pictures my suggestion would be to look at these by using the search facility on the tool bar above. 2pr

I might be wrong, but I think the longer proj is a 40mm bofors, not S gun. A picture of the base will confirm.

Hi, What you have appears to be a 40mm. A.P. Mk.1 proj.,? without base plate attached. As used in ''S'' & ''SBH'' gun. Cheers, RonB.

My 40mm proj. look's little bit longer than yours 40mm Bofors proj?
Can You measure Your 40mm Bofors projectile?

Hello again wz,

Headstamp images of the Bofors. Can't give you the projectile o/length as its crimped into the case. Measuring from the top of the driving band (farthest from case) to the projectile tip is 116mm 'ish.
