Hi All,
Here is a lovely fuze that arrived yesterday. Its straight enough and looks like original paint to me?
I think this may be an anti-shipping fuze with a slight delay if i recall correctly?
Pictured alongside a fuze discharger which i will cover in another section.

The fuze came with this rubber collar.
Ive only seen 'O' rings on fuzes before,so is this a collar for extra waterproofing if indeed it is an anti-shipping fuze?

cheers

Cheers Phil :)

It looks as it is in the shot,i managed to get the light correct.
I reckon its a 'mustardy yellow' like on the 57's.

Its the follow up from the 28* fuze its has a smaller
tolerances in the arming time because of puting in parts of the ELAZ 25.
Its for sea targets.

what size/type of bombs would this have been used with ?

I would guestimate 250kg and above for anti-shipping use?
Highly likely the SD(armour piercing) type bombs rather than the SC.
Will have a gander through the books for you. :)

Spott,
A quick squizz at the Pawlas book tells me that the 28A was used in a couple of the larger bombs such as the SB1000 'Grossladungebombe' and another whopper called an SB2500 A1. Also found in the PC1000 'Panzersprengbombe'. They look serious kit!
Ive seen one in a 250kg im currently chasing up for our man Satan18.
Hope the info helps? :)

The L.Dv. 152 from 1940 it can be used in the SC 50 and 250 and 500 then the SC 250 M and 500 M and also the SD 500 all against Sea targets.

Normal the 8 fuze whas used against Sea targets like the 28,28A and the 38 the 25B and 35 where used against Land or Sea targets. from the L.Dv 8/4 from 1941
