Hi all,
this is the Japanese WW II type 88 short delay nose fuze, used in HE-projectiles for the 57mm , 70mm, 75mm & 105mm guns. I made it this week!
Enjoy! :tinysmile_twink_t:

That is another excellent job Erhard. I really enjoy seeing your handy work.

In order to sectionize a fuze it firstly must be diassembled and components that aren't to be cut, tempoary removed. Do you use any specialist tools for this job and are there any special tricks?

I have a whole heap of Japanese fuzes that I would like to disassemble but am lacking the correct tools etc. I don't like resorting to heavy handed tactics such as vice grips etc as that just destroys.

Cheers,

Hello Erhard,

Thank you for showing your Type 88 to the group. It's always enjoyable to see your work and an excellent reference as well!

Best regards,

Randall

Your work just gets better and better, nice work Mrfuze. Thanks for showing it.
Dave.

regarding the tools,
I have of course all needle type pliers you can think of , also plastic coated pliers from Germany etc. I also made myself special tools for special purposes. If some parts are heavily tight and if I am certain there are no explosives left, I warm the housing up with a heat pistol, that helps a lot especially for the newer fuzes. And of course....MO40......!!
