UK No2 Mk1 Pressure Switch was developed by MD1 production began in 1939 and during wartime over 2.25 million were produced.
The switch was used as a boobytrap device by placing under boards door mats etc
To function it requires pressure of 30-40lbs on the pressure head which contains a V shaped cutter,this cuts through the striker spindle causing the striker to be released under spring pressure ,which in turn on been driven forward fires the percussion cap .
These examples are stamped on the main body ESS and EOSS or ECSS
