Unknown device.

Looks like some 'trenchart' (2 shell's connected with center piece).

Total hight is 74mm
weight is 92 gramm

It is made from copper/bass

Smaller piece is 30,5 mm high and has a diameter of 26,5 mm.
This piece has an unknown symbol and the date 1929 on the bottom.

Larger piece is 52 mm high and also 26,5 mm in diameter.
This piece has a soldered insert of 8 mm high (diameter 25mm) with 2 holes in it (holes diameter 4,5 and 2 mm)

Inside diameter of both pieces is is 25 mm.

Hope someone knows what this could be.

Hi orpheus,

the cartridge was a french signal cartridge. The headstamp "R" means "Ruggieri". This was the biggest factory for pyrotechnics. The insert was a star - tube. The cartridge was originally 100mm long. I think this war a trenchart - lighter.

Hi
It is a case of signal cartridge modified like friction lighter has (local arts and crafts of war)
