Hello all, Not to inundate the board with all of these identifications but ive come across what I believe to possibly be a 17 Pdr/77mm APDS Cdn Mk1. But the current schematics do not match the curves of the projectile in regards to the bowing around the base.

The Sabot in question utilizes a Tracer CDN No.1 MK 2, which as far as my research takes me was used on 17pdr/77mm as well as the 20pdr Tank.

Measurements are as follows:

Overall length: 8 2/16 Inches
Width Base: 2 3/16
Width Shoulder: 2 1/16
Tracer Length: 5/8
Tracer width: 4/8
Marked: CDN No.1 Mk2 Lot 5

Interesting item.

My intial thought was that it was the core from a 17 pounder A.P.P.S. round except that it has that larger base to it so cannot be from a "Pot" type shot !

Interesting and obviously Canadian in manufacture (CDN) and a nice item.

it does have the same shape as the 20pdr

Um !

Well found Spotter, have never seen the schematic for a 20 pounder-now I know.

I wonder if this is the sort of item you find many of in your line of work?
