Morning All
Any ideas on this one?
My first thoughts were inspection round but it hasn't an extraction groove.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
cheers
Brian
Thanks but i think theres more to it, i have quite a few inspectors rounds without flash holes, but never one without an extraction groove? it has been suggested its a test cartridge for machinery production? who knows, like you say mate, it could simply be an unfinished cartridge
cheers
Brian
Brian,
I think that as it has a headstamp, it is a finished case - the stamping comes at the end of the brass drawing process. Having said that, I don't know what it is. The rim is extremely slight, almost non-existant. Differing so much from a standard 7.62 is unusual, but I would agree it probably is some kind of inspection/drill round.
I have one similar headstamp is RG 75 L2A2 and nato compatability symbol the dimensions are 7.9mm x 52.5mm but mine has flash holes.
Apologies for crap pictures
Hi
thanks For posting, I'm starting to think these must of been made this way for some reason? Just a matter of keep searching, sure someone will be able to shine a light on the matter?
Cheers
Brian
