Hi All,

A well traveled box for 250 Striker mechanisms ???, sent to the Naval Armaments Supply Officer Mombasa. The linen seals are CINO, Chief Inspector Naval Ordnance and not the normal depot seal.

Nice to see this box with the lid on.
I found some of these boxes (all of them missing the lid).
The best ones have good markings on the side.
They were used for '20 blocks of TNT in paper wrapped'

There is no green paint, I guess this was added later?

Hi, It should be painted sand colour and not service brown really being Naval for a box from 1944, but these where reused for so many things and the fact it was going to Mombasa it was possibly painted to stop insect damage. Whilst in Naval service it would never have been painted green?.
