WWII Russian 57mm Armor Piercing Projectile Repair

M8owner

Well-Known Member
My new projectile was missing the tip of its nose, and the remaining sheet metal was rather thin. Using a mig welder, grinder, lathe and file; it now has a new steel nose. My goal was to make it look not too good and blend it in with the original metal.

Wow, that's pretty impressive skills their M8owner, very well done indeed.
Do you have any more in 57mm calibre ?

Thank you for your kind comments, gentlemen.

Rich - I do have two other projectiles for the ZiS-2.

M8wner well done! I mean, great work. Let it rust a bit and it'll blend in well with the rest soon :)

hmmm... I had few somewhere ;) There were 3 types of AP projectiles for ZiS-3 gun: Sub caliber with aluminum cap, APBC with some explosive and a base fuze and APBC with tracer only.
