57 MM Exptl AP/SN

Here is another "oddball" item that someone may recognise ?

The projectile is a 6 Pounder 57 MM steel "Shot" with a small rear tracer cavity, it is stamped:-
6PR M VIIG RST 45 DD931 EXPTL AP/SN FF X V 76

The driving band is made of a "cast" plastic but due to water ingress there are signs of corrosion under this band, it is also of note that the band has some air inclusions in it!!!

AP/SN could mean Armour Piercing Soft Nose as the projectile does not have a hardened nose or body.

If anyone has anything to add to this I would like to know.
