Hi Waff

Fuzeman very kindly sent me the plans for tailfins, which i have got
a pucka sheet metal man doing his stuff.

If they come out good and fairly priced i might waft a set or two
about to see what interest is going.

Watch this space.

just to add to the above, I have just sand blasted it and found the following markings, can anyone tell me what they mean ?

stamped in large letters in front of the fuse housing is '29 DL 1939'
below that a very tiny German ordinance stamp, German Eagle.
Behind the fuse housing near the tail end is ' 351 1 9.10.39 III' with the number '13' below.
Right at the tail of the casting is '713'

So, I'm looking for a correct fuse and a tail unit............any help ?

Cheers

Afraid I can't help you with the markings, other than the obvious dates 1939. I think the others are to do with fillings acceptence marks etc. I'm sure there are others on here that can fill you in.

As for the tail unit, that depends on what 50kg you have....is it a SC50 or SD50 - the tail units vary.
As for fuzes a 1939 50kg would probably have a type 15 fuze or 25 which are the impact fuzes.
Does your body have the locking rings also?

Maybe you ought to post a few pictures as you make progress on this one, would be interesting.

kind regards and good luck with your project.
