M314A1 105mm Illum color scheme?

I have an M314A1 105mm Illum projectile dated 1953. I can find the WW2 era and modern color scheme, but what color would 1953 fall into, the old grey, or white? It is currently OD green and I need to repaint and stencil it to original issue as I have a M314A1 crate to stick it in. Thank you.

I’ve got a nice M314A1 with original paint, 1953 dated as well if I remember correctly. It’s gray with white lettering and a white stripe.

I’ll take a good picture for you tomorrow, currently on the way home from the same auction your projectile was in.

What is the color right below the rotating band? BTW, that fuze didn't exist in 53.

Here are the photos of my M314A1. It is dated 1953 like yours. Gray body with white lettering if you choose to paint it the same, lettering is 5/8" tall with 1/4" spacing in between, stripe is 1/2" wide as well.

Tx5036 thanks, I would love to see the real deal so I can get it just right. Hazord, I pulled it up on the TM, gray with a white stripe ( for older models- A1). I am going to stick it my original crate which is marked A3 ( 1974 dated), close enough. I have a 1963 M565 fuze to replace the dummy marked one that is installed in it. Starting to pull back on the collection, ( the wife is really, really, really getting bent- no "appreciation"), so I am concentrating on finding original crates and fibre tubes for the pieces I have. Most vintage crates are ridiculously priced, but very handy when transporting to events. Maybe a waste of time and money, but a few deals are still out there. I found this M314 crate in a jeep collectors barn, paid $10 for it...anyone have a M314x black fibre tube?

TX, thank you. What model fuze do you have in it?
